The scientist claimed Oldest known man-made nanostructures found in Tamil Nadu, India

Scientists, including those from VIT, discovered the oldest known man-made nano-materials in the form of unique black coatings of ancient pottery shards in Tamil Nadu, India. The nanomaterial coating is made up of carbon nanotubes which allowed the layer to last over 2,600 years, the researcher said. The discovery is done in an archeological site in Keeladi, Tamil Nadu and the researchers get it published in the journal ‘Scientific Reports’. An unrelated scientist to this study said that people may not have intentionally added CNTs. The oldest known nanostructures in human-made artifacts until now were from the eighth or ninth century AD.
